Loving greetings from Stuggart Germany. That's right Ladies and Gents. I am alive, breathing, and trying to doggy paddle in the mass of newness surrounding me.
Germany is beautiful, bussling, very hot, and very German. I still can't fully comprehend the fact that I live in Germany now. I applied for citizenship in Germany at the Buger Buro (Citizenship Office, but yes, Burger) today with my lovely trainer! That was interesting because neither of us have much of a governmental term vocabulary... Haha!
My new comp/trainer is Sister Earnshaw from Pennsylvania, USA. She's been out for 9 months and is amazing at German. She's super sweet and is great at helping me when I have no idea what is happenin. Which is pretty much always. I give her this look, like a little child in a Physics class, like "HELP ME!" and she always follows through. And that look isn't always with speaking German. When people answer the door in only underwear, hit of us within the first 15 minutes of being Stuggart, or such speak wayyyyy too fast to be allowed she helps me out. Thank goodness for trainers.
Speaking of German... It's HARD. So very hard. But I am slowly improving every single day. I know the Holy Ghost really has helped me understand this language. The fact that I actually understood at least some of Church yesterday was very reassuring. And that I could get up in front of a congregation of native German speakers and actually bear my testimony.
I know this Gospel is true. And I know it's truthfulness in German and in English. I know we can personally come closer to Christ through three simple things. Reading the Scriptures, Praying, and Attending Church. I know those things will help us feel God's love for us and through those things we can come to know the truthfulness of this RESTORED GOSPEL. I am so grateful for the knowledge I have and the amazing opportunity I have to be here sharing that restored truth with the people of Stuggart.
Also, send me emails and letters. I am now an iPad missionary so I can read emails much more often and they truly get me through every day. I love you all. If you do those three things I know you too can know of the truthfulness of this Gospel. That's my challenge to you all this week. Just try it out. It's bound to work.
