This week has been an adventure, that is for sure. We had a lot of great lessons with members, of course, and got to know them much better. With Sis. Earnshaw leaving it made me realize how much I was going to miss her. And of course made me think about when it will be my turn to leave Stuttgart and how much I am going to miss it here. I love this ward, and this city so much.
With transfers it has been really fun and definitely an adventure for both of us! I have had a lot of fun with Sister Forsberg and showing her around Stuttgart. Have I mentioned how much I love it here? Our ward is just be best in the whole world. Like the fact that we started out yesterday without any eating appointments, and by the end of the day we had had two. Like, I think I we can claim best ward in the whole of Germany.
Sister Forsberg is from North Ogden, Utah. She is super great and has been out all of about 8 months. She has only been on her mission 2 transfers more than me, which is just an adventure seeing as we are both new-ish. And oh man. Deutsch. Having to take the lead with member lessons and conversations cause I am the only one who knows the people is just fun. But I LOVE the challenge. I can already tell it is going to help my German so much.
On Tuesday we met with L (who was just baptised). She is the absolute most adorable thing. L's daughter S was there and that was super super good. S had met with missionaries at some point, but found some less-than-desirable reading material online and stopped at that point. Luckily, she let L continue. Anyway, she stayed for our lesson and we talked about Joseph Smith and about the Holy Ghost. But this is the coolest part: S had a question earlier that week about the Holy Ghost and that burning feeling you sometimes feel when you feel it. And she asked L about it. And L went to her new Gospel Essentials booklet and found an answer for her daughter! Like WHY IS L SOOOO COOL AND ADORABLE AND PERFECT. She already knows how to answer pretty real questions with church books to her 36ish year old not yet member daughter. I mean she's my favorite.
A couple of weeks ago we had a first lesson with S. And on Friday we finally had our second lesson!!! She is super cool. She has meet with missionaries before (even though we have no idea who, or where, or for how long) and she has a lot of questions and concerns about our Church. But by the end of our lesson she seemed much more open and less defensive than when we started. Also, we invited her to church and SHE CAME. And stayed for all THREE hours and then FOR A FOURTH with the international ward. So I am REALLY excited for her. Sorry for all the capitals. I really am excited.
Also, Halloween trick-or-treating doesn't happen in Germany. But at the same time going door to door trying to share God's true Church probably wasn't the best thing on Saturday night. So instead we went to our GML's (ward mission leader) house and he had Reese's. When we asked him how he got them, he simply said "I have connections..." It was great. Also that pic includes Elder Rahlf. He is from Ohio and is Elder Killpack's new companion. He's the one holding the bag.
So basically, Stuttgart is the best because we have cool Sister missionaries, amazing recent converts, cool investigators who stay for 4 hours of church, and we get American candy. Can life get better!?
