So, the other day in my class we were telling family history stories with my district when I was talking about the my mothers side of the family. Then my dearest friend Sister Lang had a moment of excitement because she has relatives with the same last name. We are already very very alike so we just HAD to find out if we were actually related. After getting permission from President Preston, we are proud to report I have a long lost 7th cousin, 2 times removed, in Sister Lang!! What makes it even better is her last name, 'Lang' translates to 'long' in German. So we're LANG lost cousins.
Yesterday, it was raining super hard all day, like it has been for the past days. When it rains we can't play football outside. So yesterday we were expecting to not be able to play football, which we were not okay with because we're a little sick of being stuck inside all day. So we said a prayer hoping the rain would stop so we could play outside. And come 2.30 (at sport time) IT STOPPED RAINING. My prayers were answered. I know Heavenly Father listens and answers prayers, no matter how silly we think they are. He cares and loves us so much that he will answer prayers for us. Even if it's silly like stopping rain.
So next week there will be a small lapse in my weekly email, as we will have about 2 minutes to email next week. THAT'S RIGHT FOLKS! I HAVE ONE MORE WEEK UNTIL I WILL BE IN GERMANY! Germany folks! I can hardly believe I've been here for 5 weeks already. It's gone by so quickly. We're finishing up our lessons with our "investigators" in the MTC. Which has been really hard because I love these people. We've had so many amazing lessons this week.
Last night our investigator, Nilton had questions about 1 Nephi chapter 8 in the Book of Mormon. We started to read it with him in our lesson and got to verse 12. This chapter is about Lehi's vision of the tree of life. The tree of life vision explains the way we can become closer to Christ and talks more about how we can receive eternal life and live with our family after we die. Verse 12 says, "And as I partook of the fruit thereof it filled my soul with exceedingly great joy; wherefore, I began to be desirous that my family should partake of it also; for I knew that it was desirable above all other fruit." The fruit of the tree represents Gods love for us which does fill us with exceedingly great joy. We talked to Nilton about how this gospel is for families. God gives us families to bring us joy. After we understand that this gospel is SOOOO GOOD why wouldn't we want to share it with the people we love. Our family. I love my family and I love this Gospel. I'm so grateful this family will allow me to live with my family for eternity. If any of you have questions about this I would invite you to visit mormon.org. This gospel is AMAZING. I am sooo grateful for it. Words can never explain how grateful I am for this Gospel.
