So the forth of July in England is exciting, as would be expected. The cook here, named S[name with-held for security...], made this amazing BBQ for lunch, and it was sooo good. We had american flag decorations everywhere, a big cake, and all the americans sang the national anthem just as if it was a birthday cake, which I guess it kinda was. It was really strange to celebrate the 4th in a country that doesn't celebrate the fourth. But it really did show how international this MTC is. All the two-weekers (missionaries going to Birmingham, EN and the Scotland-Ireland missions) left today and we get more tomorrow, which will be weird. But the past two weeks we've had people from China, Switzerland, Holland, England, Scotland, Ireland, Austira, New Zealand, Australia, Zambia, Brazil, and AMERICA. So that has been really cool to get to know people from literally all over the world.
I just forgot to say so in my email last week, but my comp and I have been serving as Sister Training Leaders the past little while and will probably continue to do so for the next 4 or so. So saying goodbye to "my" girls the past few days has been really weird. But hopefully, the girls coming in tomorrow will be just as great. I'm sure they will be though, 'cause how could they not.
We taught a great lesson on monday night to our "investigator" and we got him to PRAY!!! The past few weeks we've been trying to communicate to him (in super broken German) the importance of prayer in our lives. So that's my message to you all this beautiful p-day. Prayer is communication with God. With God who is our Heavenly Father. Since being on my mission I have truly realized the necesity of prayers. Just like talking to a parent or best friend our prayers can be simple or very complex. And just like talking to a parent of friend, when we need someone to talk to, HE WILL ALWASY BE THERE! I know that prayer is the way to communicate with God. Through prayer we can feel God's love, recieve guidance when making decisions, and even answer questions of the heart. And most importantly, pray to know. Moroni 10:5. And, just like we told our investigator this week, prayers don't have to be complicated, long, or elaborate. Prayers can be simple and just be truly felt. So YOU CAN DO IT! JUST PRAY AND KNOW THE JOY IT BRINGS.
Love you all sooooo very much,
Sister Selph
